About Fictively

When I first began blogging, I was thinking too far ahead in my plans. I eventually want to publish, and decided to make my blog for that purpose and just include book reviews. As time went on, I discovered my love for writing the reviews and decided that I wanted things to be separate. I thought long and hard, and the first name I came up with, Fictive, stuck in my mind. Unfortunately, it was taken, so it became Fictively, and I found myself happier with it than I thought I would. No other name could make me stray, so the rebranding began.

I officially began blogging on June 1st, 2012. My blog was rebranded to Fictively on December 2nd, 2014.

About Ariel

I’m a 30-something lady from South Central Texas. Currently, I am living in Virginia where my Navy husband is stationed. I am a housewife and mother to my daughter, Rose, and my silver tabby, Aeris. I’ve always loved reading. I had fantastic grandparents who supported the habit and would buy me any book I wanted. Instead of playing with the other children, I had my books. I remember my grandfather commanding me to “go outside and play” and find me hours later at dinner time under a tree with a stack of books by my side. He would have to steal my books and hide them just to get me to eat because I would get so lost in the literary worlds.

When I’m not reading and blogging, I like to paint, watch movies, cook, and play video games such as Star Wars The Old Republic, Diablo 3, Metal Gear Solid, and Kingdom Hearts. I also like to write and am often working on my slowly progressing novels or writing fanfiction.
